What makes Max tick?

Problem-solving and truly understanding what lies at the heart of a challenge are what ignite my passion. Whether it’s unravelling complex technical puzzles or delving into the intricacies of a project, I thrive on the process of uncovering solutions. This innate drive to dissect problems and unearth their underlying mechanics fuels my dedication to excellence in every endeavour I undertake. Beyond the professional realm, everything I do is ultimately engineered to help spend more time with my wife and three wickedly smart children. As a family man, my greatest joy comes from cherishing moments with my loved ones, nurturing bonds, and creating lasting memories together. I share my passion for adventure with my kids, taking them climbing and hiking, instilling in them a love for the outdoors and a spirit of exploration. For fun, I love to climb and play squash. Even in leisure activities, problem-solving plays its part, as both climbing and squash benefit from a strategic mind. Whether scaling a rock face or strategising on the squash court, I find solace and fulfilment in the mental challenges these pursuits offer, enriching both my personal and professional life. As an individual on the spectrum, I think differently and consider this a powerful tool in business. While I may be challenged with spelling, I excel in problem-solving and communication. I am not afraid to make mistakes and encourage people to own their mistakes and learn from them. My parenting style reflects this approach to life, encouraging my kids to explore the world and make mistakes. Starting as a child who was told I would not succeed and have few prospects in life, I now have a wife, three children, and run multiple companies. I want my children to embrace their unique perspective on the world and feel motivated to follow their dreams.

Work bio

As a Founding Director, I focus on guiding the leadership and wider team in understanding the crucial relationship and balance between design, development and meeting client needs. With over a decade of experience in the creative and tech industry, I’ve honed my skills in harmonising aesthetic vision and technical functionality with business objectives. My expertise lies in bridging the gap between design concepts and practical implementation, ensuring seamless integration and optimal user experiences. Day-to-day, I dedicate myself to answering the team’s questions and guiding them through the challenges they face, leveraging my deep understanding of both design and development to provide insightful solutions and support. My superpowers lie in problem-solving and in my ability to comprehend large volumes of business processes and user requirements, and seamlessly visualise each aspect simultaneously.

    Brands/Companies they have worked with

Over the years, I have had the opportunity to collaborate with several renowned brands and companies:

    • Apple: As a teacher, I helped roll out their internal training across the UK’s flagship stores.
    • Ogilvy: As a consultant, I worked with Ogilvy Labs & Ogilvy Change on user behaviour and integrating new tech into client projects.
    • CBRE: I led a team to develop and roll out a centralised framework to manage and deploy dozens of CBRE websites.
    • LexisNexis: I was tasked with designing an app that brought telematics to the end user. The app tracked users’ driving and linked their insurance policy to their actual driving, offering new features such as in-app driver feedback, a scoreboard to incentivise good driving, and driving alerts and events.
    • Kings Collage London & OSLR: I designed and prototyped the first working BETA that centralised and streamlined doctor training in the NHS, collaborating with medical students and doctors.

    Why TD?

What sets TD apart for me is not just our commitment to success, but our unwavering dedication to ethical business practices and sustainability. One significant example of this is when we supported a number of our clients through the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic. As the world adapted to a new normal, we received notifications from several clients indicating their inability to settle their next end-of-month invoice. In response, we took proactive measures, offering uninterrupted service to all customers, providing them with the opportunity to find their footing during these uncertain times and continue on the journey together. This act of solidarity and support exemplifies our values at td – putting people first and fostering long-term partnerships built on trust and mutual respect. It’s moments like these that reaffirm my belief in the ethos of People, Planet, and Technology that underpins everything we do. At td, we don’t just aim to succeed – we strive to make a meaningful difference in the world while staying true to our core principles.
